A Home We've Had the Privilege of Transforming, One Project at a Time
There are clients who hire you once, and then there are clients who become part of your story.
These homeowners are incredibly special to us because we've had the opportunity to work with them on multiple projects over the years. Together, we've completely remodeled two bathrooms, built a new outdoor deck, and most recently transformed the heart of their home with a full kitchen, dining room, and living room remodel.
There's no greater compliment than having homeowners continue to call us back whenever they're ready for their next project. That kind of trust means everything to our team.
Designing With Complete Confidence
One of the things we love most about working with this couple is how much they trust the design process.
They have a classic, timeless style, but they're wonderfully laid-back when it comes to making selections. Instead of agonizing over every finish, they give us a few inspiration photos, share the overall feeling they're hoping to achieve, and allow us to guide the rest.
As designers, that's incredibly rewarding.
It gives us the opportunity to create a cohesive space where every finish works together beautifully while still reflecting the homeowners' personality. They trust us to sweat the small details, and we love bringing those ideas to life.
Even better, this entire transformation, from demolition to the final walkthrough, was completed in just seven weeks!
Creating a Kitchen Designed for Everyday Living
The existing kitchen had served the family well for many years, but it was ready for a fresh start.
The layout felt closed in, storage was limited, and the peninsula divided the space rather than bringing people together.
Our goal was to create a kitchen that felt timeless, warm, and much more functional while staying true to the homeowners' classic style.
We completely gutted the space and started from the ground up.
Creamy custom cabinetry provides a bright, inviting foundation, while a stained oak island and matching custom hood introduce warmth and character that immediately draw your eye.
One of the biggest changes was completely reworking the layout.
By removing the peninsula and relocating the refrigerator to the wall beside the sink, we were able to open the entire kitchen and make room for a massive island that quickly became the centerpiece of the space.
We also centered the range beneath the custom wood hood on the back wall, creating a beautiful focal point that's both functional and visually striking.
More than Just a Kitchen
One of our favorite additions to this remodel was the custom coffee bar and pantry area in the dining room.
Not only did it add much-needed storage, but it also created a dedicated space for everyday routines while giving the dining room a custom built-in look that feels like it was always part of the home.
Lighting played a huge role in transforming the space as well.
We incorporated recessed lighting throughout the kitchen and living room, decorative pendant lighting above the island, under-cabinet lighting for added functionality, and illuminated glass cabinetry in the dining room to showcase beautiful display pieces and add warmth in the evenings.
It's amazing how much thoughtful lighting can completely change the feeling of a home.
Bringing the Entire Home Together
Rather than treating each room as its own project, we wanted the kitchen, dining room, and living room to feel like one connected space.
To accomplish that, we installed new solid oak hardwood flooring throughout all three rooms and seamlessly tied it into the existing hardwood flooring in the hallway.
We also created a custom stain specifically for this project, carefully matching the warmth of the stained oak island, range hood, and coffee bar. The finished result feels cohesive from one room to the next.
In the living room, we continued the transformation with updated electrical, additional recessed lighting, and one of our favorite features of the project, a completely redesigned fireplace with beautiful custom built-ins and a quartz hearth.
It became the perfect finishing touch to an already incredible space.
The Details That Make a House Feel Like Home
If you asked our team to choose a favorite design feature, the backsplash would probably win.
The homeowners selected two complementary tile designs, one for the kitchen and another for the coffee bar. Together, they add texture, personality, and just the right amount of visual interest while perfectly complementing the cabinetry and warm wood accents.
It's those thoughtful details that elevate a beautiful remodel into a truly custom home.
A Smooth Project From Start to Finish
One thing that made this remodel especially enjoyable was how smoothly everything came together.
Construction projects almost always come with unexpected surprises, but this one stayed remarkably on schedule. Materials arrived when they were supposed to, the project kept moving, and seven weeks later the homeowners were enjoying an entirely new living space.
As with all of our design-build projects, our team handled every detail, from design and material selections to scheduling, ordering, coordinating trades, and managing construction, so the homeowners could simply enjoy watching their vision come to life.
A Home That Keeps Growing With Its Family
One of the most rewarding parts of our job is watching a home evolve alongside the family who lives there.
Over the years, we've had the privilege of helping these homeowners update nearly every major area of their home. Each project has built upon the last, creating spaces that feel connected, timeless, and thoughtfully designed.
